| Hey all, I'm checking in for the first time so be gentle... I'm running a 1986 Red CJ7. The jeep has an interesting past. Here we go...It was my best friends and my wives brother. He passed away in 2003 at the early age of 27 in a car accident. Her/His parents gave me the Jeep. I made it my goal to rebuild the Jeep in his honor. His nick name was 'Bean Bag" hence the tag "4bean." So my best friend he was on his way back from college and the tranny let go on the New Jersey Turnpike. We towed it back to his parent’s house and pulled the drive train and that’s how it sat for about two years. His parents finally gave him the ultimatum to get it back running and out of the garage or it was going to the dump. We got it back running (very roughly) right before he passed away. That’s when I got the Jeep. I have since taken it from a rusty cancer ridden 4 cylinder to a 350SB/SM465/NP205 with 6.5” of lift and 36.5” TSL’s. I got the drive line components from a 78 GM wrecker. Then I was running down rt 27 and it caught in fire. One of the floats stuck on the old quadrajet carb, dumped fuel on the cat's which flashed and then caught the spray in liner on fire. Luckily I got it out with a dry chem I had on board. Replaced the carb and the melted interior parts and drove it for a year or so. Then about 3 years ago, the throw out bearing was tapping and the rear main was leaking and I got the bright idea the rebuild the entire drive train right before my wife went into labor. I didnt know how little time I was about to have, hence the reason it has taken 3 years to get her running again. She fired up a few weeks ago and now only need to replumb the filler neck to tank and she will be back on the road. [img][/img] | |

| Glad to see you made it.. I enjoyed the conversation's the other night and look forward to seeing the jeep out on the trails... Thanks again for the boat cover.. It worked great and saved me alot of money from buying a new one... Its such a small world.. After hearing you lived across the street from where Tina grew up and she knew all your neighbors, seeing the jeep in the garage just topped it all off........... Guys this is a very nice looking CJ and the owner is great to talk too.. Poor Mckenzie and Tina sat in the truck for an hour while we spoke Jeeps... | |
