| started up the jeep today the CJ had a hard time but it started sounded like it was running on less than 6 cyl. got it to run some but seem like a vacumm leak only had 8" not good. could not fine a leak. Call Mark 7 times check the timing way off . Poped off the distruber cap found that i could move the rotor 2" not good. found the pin holding the gear on was almost all gone just a half moon on one side left holding it on. Gear look OK so I need to put in a new pin.
Question.
Is there a special pin for this that will hold up to the power of my jeep?
the PO had two pins in it one inside the other I don't think this is right. | |

| jeep is fixed and running again Glad I keep old parts most people would never use got a pin out of an old distributor form one of the many old engines I had. This pin was much thicker that the one that was in it. Put distributor back in reset the timing and adjusted the carb. running good again. | |
