PostSubject: Past rides   Past rides EmptyTue Mar 02, 2010 10:45 pm

After mentioning a Chevelle I had I got a pm asking to see pic's.. I dont have them loaded on the computer so I had to take a picture of a picture, so the quality isnt that great..

I know Mark has his baby he has had for years so lets turn this into a thread of past cars and rides....

Back in 99 I had a 97 K1500 and the rear window had this displayed. I was a Chevy big block fan.....

Past rides Dsc01212

Here is my 70 Chevelle SS... 468 roller motor...

Past rides Dsc01213

Notice the tag...... "All Motor".... The block was built for the spray but after buying it I only ran two passes with the bottle just to see what it had... I have never been a fan of spray..

Past rides Dsc01214

At the same time I had a 26 foot Wellcraft Nova St... with TWIN 454's... As you can see the way it sat in the water it was All Motor.. The ST was the smallest boat you could get twin big blocks in..

Past rides Dsc01215

This was of course when fuel wasnt what it cost now.. Having three big blocks at one time did put the hurt on the wallet every weekend.. I would burn 100 gallons of fuel in the boat cruising to Red Eye and back.. Of course that was running them pretty hard..

The 57 was my first car given to me at 14 by my father. It was pulled from a junkyard out in Taneytown. The old guy that owned the place said he wanted a lot of money for it ................................. well $250 bucks and a tow truck ride home it was time to start learning about cars. However on the ride home it fell off the tow truck so some serious body work was needed. May years of sweat and money is what you see here. I do however change things or make improvements, OD tranny, PDB. If all goes well I will be putting a new motor in it this spring. This is a Gasser project me and my boys have been working on for a few years. This is how it looked when I bought it, it looks very different now, and if all works out it should be ready for the road by the end of summer.

What year is that NOVA? I see its a 350 but what does it say on the drop down fender behind the front wheel?

I like the NOVA the best.. I was never a Vette fan until the recent body style..or pre 70's..

I like the Cragar S/S's on the Yota.. I think I still have a set at my dad's.

I like in the Vette picture you see another Nova and Chevelle in the background and is that a Monarch at the curb?

Looking at old pictures is cool to figure out what years and models are in the backgrounds.....

My dad had a 74 also.. It was a 350 and ran very very well.. I would love to find a original big block 70 Nova..
