Ford 8.8 ?

My son want to put a 8.8 in his YJ. Does it have to be from an Explorer it can it be from a Ranger?

Not sure. I think they are the same but it is easier to find a explorer. Try to find one from a 97 or newer for the rear disk.

I posted on the other forum too, but i will repeat it here.
The ones out of the rangers, except for a fer special editions, are all 29 spline.
The ones out of the Explorers are 31 spline, and 96-01/02 had disk brakes.
I know the explorer ones are aobut 1 inch shorter side to side than the d35. Im not sure about the width on the rangers.

Jason has the 8.8 all done and ready to go including the YJ mounting kit..

I talked to Chris about it, but seeing Josh is away at school he was looking for something cheap he could work on at school and not cost alot.
