I have a full traction spring over kit that I bought for my CJ sitting on a shelf in my garage. I've put it on, and taken it off twice because it ended up putting too much lift on my jeep. The first time I put it on, I had a 4" spring, and a 1 1/2" shackle. The second time I had a 2 1/2" spring and a 1" shackle. After talking to my old boss who has a '88 YJ, I'm going to do the same thing he did, and put a good set of stock springs, a 1" shackle, and the SOA. He's clearing 36" M/T Baja Belted's, and I'll be running 36" Thornbirds. Hope that helps. :)

stick with the lift you have if you go spring over your asking for more problems ie traction bars to stop wheel hop. Your new axles have better gears but will not handle bigger tires than you have now.

I'm SOA with 4" springs and 1" shackles. I was a little concerned before doing it but I wouldn't trade it for anything after wheeling with it for the last year or so.
