Users beware

This is mainly for the moderators but i thought it would be good to send to all members just in case..

If you receive a email looking like the following from forummotion do not respond and do not give up any passwords.. They will contact me before they contact you......

We do not need anyone hacking our forum... Let me know if you receive anything like this..

I will usually send a email to you from my comcast account if i need something..

Here is a example the forum has provided........


Dear Founder,
My name is ----, Forumotion Adminstrator.
A hacker is causing us problems lately, and is threatening to attack your forum.
So we can protect you as best as we can, I will need admin rights on your forum, so I can patch it and avoid you being hacked.
Please give me your login as soon as possible, so I can protect you from his hacking attempts.

We count on your fast collaboration, this is a serious threat.

I have not recieved any emails like this.

Matt this is a great advisory, just by reading the headline you can tell this is a BS hacker trying to get into our system, most likely from another country given the way he or she writes.

Thanks I will keep an eye out for it!
